No U.S. War on Venezuela • December 6, 2025
On Saturday, December 6,2025 Radical Elders joined a rally in Times Square calling for No U.S. War on Venezuela. Speakers noted several dangerous lies including that Venezuela is smuggling drugs into the U.S., that Venezuela’s President heads a drug trafficking gang, and that Venezuela is sending criminals to the U.S.


No More Crumbs Rally • November 21, 2025
On Friday, November 21,2025 Radical Elders joined other Safety Net Activists at Trump International Hotel to protest Trump’s destruction of Safety Net Programs. The theme was NO MORE CRUMBS! Food, Housing, and Healthcare for All NOW! The rally called on NY leaders to protect and improve programs. After the rally there was a march to Governor Hochul’s office.



No Kings Day • October 18, 2025
Los Angeles

Radical Elders Marie Kennedy and Chris Tilly attended the No Kings rally in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles—it was very much larger than they expected. It was just one of a number of demos within the City of Los Angeles, and many more in Los Angeles County.

From Radical Elder Sam Anderson: “My wife, Rosemari and I, were at a Harlem Forum that was planned months ago. Otherwise, we would have been there or in the Brooklyn No Kings demo. Ruth Messinger, who was also part of our forum came directly from the march. We had several people who were in the morning sessions immediately leave to join the No Kings demo taking place on 125th St.”
Make Billionaires Pay March • September 20, 2025



Radical Elders joined the Make Billionaires Pay March on Saturday September 20, 2025. More than a dozen members of Radical Elders and allies marched up Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan supporting activism and themes Billionaires Must Pay, Protect Migrants, Against Militarism, and Polluters Must Pay— Defend Mother Earth.
Mass March for Humanity • August 16, 2025


Radical Elders joined the Rally/March in support of Gaza and against the genocide (8/16/25). Speakers included Mahmoud Khalil and Chris Smalls. Radical Elders helped carry a 15-foot Cape designed by Artist Mimi Fortunato containing the names of hundreds of infants and children under 1 year old who died in Gaza .

Visibility Brigade • July 9, 2025



Indivisible NJ5’s Visibility Brigade, holding signs over Route 4 on the Bergen Town Center’s overpass, was the first in the nation back in the first Trump administration. Recently, the national Media and Democracy Project’s monthly call highlighted the group and its toolkit. RE members Kevin Norton and Sally Gellert joined the action on a weekday afternoon.

Radical Elders (Lizette Colon, Ana Juarbe, and Angel Roman) joined Physicians for National Health Program and others on July 4, 2025 for a rally and die-in at Trump Tower.
Montclair, N.J.

POP (People’s Organization for Progress) presented a contingent in Montclair’s (New Jersey) July 4 parade. POP’s chairperson, Larry Hamm, led the chants as we marched through the streets and held the mike up to enthusiastic supporters of all ages, races and genders alone the route. Power to the People!
National Single Payer Day of Action • May 31, 2025



Radical Elders rallied at the Midtown Manhattan Social Security office for National Single Payer on 5/31/25. More than 50 demonstrators participated including Radical Elders Ana Juarbe, Kathy Gruber, Fred Levy, Roberta Pickser, Jose Alfaro, Gabriel Koren, and Angel Roman.

POP March of Resistance, Newark, N.J. • April 4, 2025


Every year on April 4th, the People’s Organization for Progress remembers the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a rally and march through Newark. This year marks the 57th anniversary of that tragedy in Memphis, Tennessee.
50501 Rally, New York, N.Y. • Feb. 5, 2025

RE member Angel Román holds a Radical Elders banner over his head at New York City’s “50501” rally—50 rallies, 50 states, 1 day. The rallies were in opposition to Project 2025. Most were at state capitals, but sibling rallies such as this one in New York also happened.
MLK March of Resistance, Newark, N.J. • Jan. 18, 2025

RE member Kevin Norton writes, “On Saturda,y Jan. 18, 2025 we gathered for a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March of Resistance in Newark, N.J. More than 300 organizations endorsed the event, initiated by POP (People’s Organization for Progress). According to one newspaper article, “hundreds” of people participated (many more went to New York City’s march, see below). Radical Elders was represented by Ted Glick and myself, but I can tell you there were participants in their 90s as well as very young people. It was a very powerful coalition on all levels.”

Rally to Protect City Retirees’ Medicare • October 23, 2024

Radical Elders Ana Juarbe, Sarah Shapiro, and Angel Román joined other NYC Municipal Retirees on 10/23/24 at a noon rally in City Hall. NYC Councilman Christopher Marte announced that he would be introducing a bill protecting retirees in keeping our Medicare.

Hands Off Venezuela • August 17, 2024

Radical Elders joined the rally held on Saturday August 17, 2024 in support of Venezuela’s sovereignty and democracy against the imperialist assault. The group met inside and then outside Fox TV headquarters (NewsCorp) at 1211 6th Ave) at 11 a.m.

National Day of Mourning • July 28, 2024





On July 6, 2024, Sonya Massey, an unarmed 36 year-old Black mother of two, who called 911 for assistance, was shot in the face and killed by a Sangamon County deputy sheriff in her home in downtown Springfield, Illinois.
Sean Grayson, a white police officer, shot Massey in the face three times when he killed her. He has been fired from his job and charged with murder. It has been revealed that he held jobs with five other police departments in the last four years.
This protest, this past Sunday was sponsored by the People’s Organization For Progress (POP) and co-sponsored by the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC) Study Group, Newark Communities for Accountable Policing, All Politics Are Local, Newark Anti-Violence Coalition and other groups.
We had a good, powerful gathering and we shut down the usually busy Newark intersection at Broad and Market for something like 45mins to an hour. Justice for Sonya Massey! Stop Police Brutality! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

We have been at a number of Summer of Heat events, not just during Elders Week, but all summer long! Join Stop the Money Pipeline, New York Communities for Change, Third Act, and more to be sure that Citigroup gets the message: stop funding fossil fuels!



Radical Elders (including Ana Juarbe, Ted Glick and Angel Roman) joined Climate activists from the elder group Third Act who held a mock-funeral in front of Citibank’s headquarters in Manhattan to protest the climate crisis on Monday, July 8.
Third Act said it was “demanding that #WallStreet banks and financiers stop using our hard-earned retirement savings to fund the #climatecrisis,” calling Citibank “the world’s biggest funder of fossil fuel expansion.”

Newark Rebellion Anniversary • July 12, 2024






RE Kevin Norton and his comrade Ren represented Northern NJ DSA at the commemoration march and rally that started at the Rebellion Memorial at 250 Springfield Ave. Larry Hamm read off the names on the memorial (26, but disputed), and theh the group marched to the old police precinct at 17th Ave (now the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery).
Take Back Tech Conference • June 21–23, 2024

The June 21 – 23 Take Back Tech II conference in Chicago — sponsored by Mijente and Media Justice — drew over 400 activists. Radical Elders was there with a highly successful and well-attended workshop.
Supporting Columbia Students • April 30, 2024

A delegation of some 20 members of Radical Elders assembled at the main gate to Columbia University at 12 noon on April 30th at 116th Street and Broadway. We remained for several hours after making a statement in support of the students inside the University’s locked-down main quad.
